NEWS
Domino was nominated for the 2006 CHA Stone School Horse of the Year Award and won!  This is a national competition.  The winning horse is made into a Peter Stone model horse.  Jessica will be going to Colorado in a couple of weeks to accept the award.  We are very honored!

Jessica and Domino, along with Tracy and Maverick competed in their first endurance race a couple of weeks ago.  In the 25 mile ride there were 31 competitors.  Tracy came in 4th and Jessica came in 5th

Endurance UPDATE:  Tracy has completed her first year of LD rides (25/30 miles) and placed in the top 10 each time!  She just completed her first 50 mile endurance ride on Maverick and they came in 13th!  Way to go Tracy and Maverick!  Jessica has started riding a gaited mule named George for endurance.  They completed their first LD ride together and came in about the middle of the pack.  Not bad for a mule that hadn't been ridden since January!  Jessica can't wait to get him in top condition and see what he can do!

Eagle Creek Equestrian Center is now accredited by the Certified Horsemaship Association!  We are one of only 7 CHA accredited stables in the state and approximately 200 nationwide.  This involves maintainging a very high standard of horse management, facility safety, and horsemanship skills.  To learn more about this process, please visit the CHA website at www.cha-ahse.org/.

Eagle Creek was featured in the summer 2005 issue of The Instructor, CHA's instructor magazine which goes out to 5500 CHA members across the nation.  We are honored to have this opportunity!

The Instructor

We appreciate all aspects of riding and working with horses.  The primary instructor, Jessica Beohm, is a certified elementary school teacher and an avid rider/trainer.  She is also certified as a riding instructor with the Certified Horsemanship Association.  She is competent in both English and Western disciplines and trains people and horses for dressage, jumping, western pleasure, barrel racing, and many more aspects of riding with an emphasis on safety, rider's position, and a resistance-free approach with the horse.  With a background in education, she is competent in teaching to various learning styles and abilities, as well as to individuals or groups.  Therefore, lessons may be one-on-one or they may consist of students of various ages and skill levels working on individualized exercises at the same time.

Jessica's lifetime love of horses, which led to a constant study of all things equine, has attributed to her competency in working with all types of horses at various skill levels.  We do not "break" horses, we "train" them.
